Classroom Teachers and Special Area Teachers

Hands-on techniques to bring all areas of the curriculum ALIVE! For
classroom teachers, special area teachers, administrators, parents: The Capital District Arts in Education Roundtable advocates infusing the arts into all areas of your curriculum. We know children learn in many different ways, and a multi-disciplinary approach that integrates the arts at every level of teaching will result in improved student performance. Artists will share hands-on exercises and lessons that teach a specific curriculum, theme through the Arts. Active involvement, plus a Roundtable discussion of how the arts can approach challenges in your classroom will be included.

Art and Music Teachers

Hands-on techniques to integrate the arts into all curricula
Art and music teachers all know how valuable their curriculum is. In this workshop, a classroom teacher/administrator and two veteran teaching artists will demonstrate how art and music can be infused into the classroom curriculum as well. Hands-on lessons that teach a specific curriculum theme through the arts will be shared and demonstrated. A roundtable discussion time will be included for teachers to discuss how these techniques can meet their school’s challenges.
