The community schools movement unites a school’s educative mission with diverse resources to enrich opportunities for students and positively transform the communities in which they learn. CASDA’s position as the field-arm of the University at Albany School of Education and the vast instructional and administrative experience of our faculty enables CASDA to serve as a dynamic facilitator. Our faculty is uniquely capable of assisting your school in developing the necessary relationships to confront the educational and socio-economic challenges facing increasingly under-resourced districts.
Conducts interviews and focus groups with all stakeholders to assess needs, evaluate assets and understand district priorities.
Uses information gathered in interviews and focus groups to establish the project’s vision, develop a strategic action plan and form the basis for program evaluation.
Empowers leaders such as principals, teacher leaders, community school coordinators and instructional coaches to promote shared leadership and accountability.
Coaches the school principal, Community Schools Coordinator, Family Engagement Coordinator and instructional coach.
Provides research, best practices, training and technical assistance to improve all aspects of community schools programming.
Gathers data and evaluates programs and services.
