Assistive and instructional technology devices are being utilized in innovative ways to provide enhanced learning opportunities for students with special needs.  CASDA can provide support to administrators, CPSE/CSE chairpersons, teachers and therapists to ensure systematic, meaningful and cost effective use of these tools.

CASDA faculty will work in consultation with administrators, faculty and staff to develop a thorough educational technology strategy driven by the specific needs and goals of your district.  Areas of support include:

  • Identifying the most appropriate technology platform for district needs and goals (iPads, smartboards)

  • The role of Universal Design for Learning vs Assistive Technology

  • Documenting assistive technology devices and services in the IEP process

  • Training for staff and students in utilizing assistive technology devices

  • Effective planning to implement and evaluate assistive technology tools and programming.

CASDA faculty members possess the knowledge and experience to help your district integrate instructional technology and unlock its potential to expand learning opportunities for students with special needs.
