PARENT CENTERS

Parent Centers are invaluable links between the school and community.  These spaces supply parents with important, school-related information, often in multiple languages and function as a meeting place. Centers are usually staffed by parent volunteers with assistance provided by the school district.  They offer access to computers, pamphlets detailing relevant community programs and workshops to facilitate parent’s active participation in their child’s education. CASDA’s vast experience in bridging schools and communities can be a significant asset to any district looking to establish a Parent Center.

OUR APPROACH

CASDA will help your district design and implement a Parent Center that reflects both the school’s educational mission and the values of the community.  Faculty members will utilize their knowledge and experience to:

  • Help design a welcoming, comfortable space for parents.

  • Identify specific information that must be disseminated to parents.

  • Locate multi-lingual resources.

  • Facilitate connections with community organizations.

  • Develop workshops to support parent engagement.

Benefits:

An inviting and informative Parent Center develops essential links between home and school. Clear, effective, reciprocal communication is streamlined and parent/guardian involvement in education is facilitated.  The programming and resources provided at a Parent Center help to integrate the school into the greater community and contribute greatly to improved student outcomes.
