Understanding Academic Data for School Improvement

Has your Building Leadership Team been able to successfully implement ESSA's mandates? This workshop will help your BLT, Data Team or PLC learn what kinds of data to collect to successfully monitor and evaluate academic programs to drive school improvement. Whether your building has a SCEP Plan, is attempting to address opportunity gaps and disproportionality, would like to make evidence-based decisions about instruction, or align professional development with student learning, this workshop will help you develop the common language and understanding to meet your goals.


Participants will be able to identify data sources for improvement at the District, School, Classroom and Student Level and understand what kinds of evidence should and should not inform program development and practice. We will touch on breaking down data by race, language and disability status to identify opportunity gaps and places where culturally and linguistically diverse students are not being well served by current practices.
