At CASDA's recent Capital Region Annual Awards Dinner, former CASDA executive committee member Lynn Macan was honored with the National School Development Council's Cooperative Leadership Award.
The Cooperative Leadership Award is granted by the National School Development Council to recognize the exemplary leadership of a local administrator. For the 2014 award, CASDA nominated Dr. Macan based on her exceptional leadership of CASDA’s Executive Committee as well as her work as the Superintendent for the Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School District since 2007.
Over her career, Dr. Macan has worked at many levels of school administration, including as a guidance counselor, assistant principal, principal and superintendent. She has also worked with the University at Albany and sits on advisory committees to aid in teacher preparation. Her attention to collaboration across all levels of administration, her continued dedication to her own education, and her many professional affiliations confirm Dr. Macan as a strong, cooperative leader. Past winners include Dr. Hal Lawson, Dr. Bangert Drowns and District Superintendent Jim Baldwin.
