CASDA Awards Season Recognizes Educational Achievement at All Levels

May 27, 2014

As an organization dedicated to serving educational professionals and students,  CASDA holds two annual events designed to highlight the extraordinary achievements of these groups in the Capital Region. CASDA’s annual Awards Dinner was attended by over 100 guests celebrating award recipients such as Principal of the Year, PDK Prospective Educator Scholarship Awards, the Nelson J. Armlin Scholarship Award, the Capital District Counseling Association’s Counselor of the Year Award, and the National School Development Council’s Cooperative Leadership Award.

CASDA and program sponsors also hosted the Scholars’ Recognition Dinner , which was attended by over 500 exceptional high school seniors, their parents, and the teachers who most influenced their academic careers. This year, CASDA’s partner Hudson Valley Community College further embraced this tradition by offering all scholars a free, three-credit course in order to get a jump on their college work.

These events represent the most remarkable accomplishments in the field of education in our region every year. For more information on award recipients and to start looking forward to next year’s awards season visit
