Scheduled with the start of the new academic year, CASDA has unveiled its first wholly redesigned logo and tagline since being founded in 1949. The organization’s new brand and tagline reflect its commitment to responding to new technologies, new ways of learning and new trends in the field of education.
While the logo is new, it retains much of the history of the old logo by turning the box that encapsulated the “C” sideways in order to reveal an arrow, which signifies CASDA’s commitment to progressing not only as an organization, but also the schools and educators it works with. The new tagline – “Educate, Empower, Achieve” – speaks to the approach that CASDA takes when providing services to area schools. It educates by bringing research to practice and acting as a catalyst for educational professionals. It empowers by providing school districts with the tools and collaboration they need to succeed. It achieves by working with districts to help them build capacity to change and enhance the education they provide to their students. Ultimately, this tagline conveys the purpose of CASDA and the process by which it creates positive and lasting outcomes at all levels of the schools it works with.
The new brand also reflects a commitment to the latest communications technology the organization has implemented including a state-of-the-art distance learning lab, contemporary website design and social media presence. The distance learning lab in particular represents a dedicated approach to meeting the needs of urban, suburban and rural school districts here in the Capital Region and beyond. Many CASDA services and events will now be supplemented by telepresence, eliminating the need for costly travel from members.
The organization has also experienced major growth in recent years, including seven full-time staff members and more than 35 experienced faculty members. Many faculty are former area school administrators and superintendents with deep knowledge of how schools operate and what they need to succeed. With this staff has come an ever growing number of services the organization offers to school districts. Currently, the organization offers more than 70 consulting services in eight distinct service areas including curriculum, teaching and learning, leadership and coaching, research and data, professional development, district administration, learning environment, and speaking and facilitation.
In addition to CASDA’s extensive list of services, it will also begin offering memberships to a more diverse group of stakeholders in an effort to expand its services to other members of the educational community. Prior to the expansion, CASDA only offered membership opportunities to school districts, but there will now be three additional levels of membership that will be made available. These membership levels include Associate Memberships (aimed at colleges and universities), Affiliate Memberships (targeted toward similar non-profit organizations) and Individual Memberships (intended for educators, students and public officials). Each membership comes with its own fee level and benefits.
