Over 2,000 Students and Parents Attend Fall College Fair

October 7, 2015

The CASDA Fall College Fair was recently held on Wednesday, September 30 at the Edward McDonough Sports Complex at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY. The annual event that included both a morning and evening session, invited schools, students and parents to meet with admission representatives from more than 180 colleges and universities.

During the morning session we were fortunate to have 15 high schools bus in over 900 students. The students asked representatives about campus life, academic programs, financial aid, and admissions requirements.

The evening session also had a large crowd of parents and students with more than 1,200 people attending from 6-8 pm.

This free event gave students and parents the opportunity to meet one-on-one with admission representatives from a wide range of national, public and private, two and four year colleges and universities to ask questions and pick up admission materials.

The New York State Higher Education Services Corporation was also on hand to answer questions about student aid and application.

We would like to thank our area school counselors for getting the word out and making it a well attended event.  Our next college fair is going to be on May 4, 2016 at HVCC.
