CASDA continually evolves to meet the needs of teachers and administrators in a constantly changing educational landscape. Following the State Education Department’s modification to the Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) requirements, CASDA has been recognized as an approved CTLE provider. This accreditation enables educators to utilize CASDA’s conferences, workshops, distance learning events and roundtables toward fulfilling their mandated 100 hours of approved CTLE professional development. CASDA will also begin using the My Learning Plan platform to make our events more accessible to educators and streamline the registration and record keeping processes.
My Learning Plan allows CASDA to bring our faculty’s expertise to more educators while aligning offerings to NYSED’s professional development standards. Enabling teachers to receive CTLE credit for CASDA’s conferences and webinars directly supports their career development while providing them with research supported best practices across the entire spectrum of educational issues. The access to districts provided by My Learning Plan supports CASDA’s mission as a convener and widens the circle of motivated, inquisitive educators working to support students. Responding to legislative shifts and the changing needs of school communities is essential for all educational organizations. CASDA’s CTLE approval and move to My Learning Plan ensures that we will continue to serve as a valuable resource for educators as they strive to support and inspire students in their districts.
