This conference will explore strategies to improve student attendance at both the elementary and secondary school levels.

Schools must address and eliminate barriers to student daily attendance and meaningful engagement. This is particularly true for:

  • Students facing poverty

  • Children of color

  • Homeless or highly mobile students

  • Students facing trauma and mental illness

  • Students with disabilities

  • Students contending with the juvenile justice system

James Baldwin said: "We can make a difference. We can remember that these kids are our kids; they are all our children.  We will all profit by, or pay for, whatever they become."

This conference is meant to bring together educators to exchange meaningful information, ideas, practices and resources.
