School Psychologist


The School Psychologist Roundtable will serve as a forum through which participants can gain valuable information and resources on topics relevant to the effective practice of school psychology. This area-wide professional learning community will assist school psychologists working to provide services and accommodations for students with diverse learning needs and skills. In each session, participants will be provided a brief presentation on a variety of topics relevant to the effective practice of school psychology, followed by discussion and sharing of ideas and strategies for improving psychological support services and academic interventions. A portion of the time will be reserved for case consultation.


Topics will include:


  • Assessment, diagnosis and treatment of Dyslexia.

  • Making legally defensible and educationally relevant recommendations.

  • Writing goals that lend themselves to progress monitoring and benchmarking.

  • Characteristics and habits of effective school psychologists.

  • Other pertinent issues the group may identify through the course of the year.
