Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Curriculum Services

Helping districts build a foundation for student success in school and beyond.

Creating a customized Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Curriculum based on your district's specific needs is a proactive approach to providing students with necessary tools to help them be successful in school, at home and in the community.

Adopting an SEL program school-wide is beneficial for both students and teachers. A learning environment where students and teachers learn the SEL concepts together, speak the same SEL language and practice utilizing the concepts and tools results in school-wide development and growth.

CASDA will help students in your district develop social-emotional and mental health competencies, helping to create safe, nurturing and culturally responsive learning environments. This contributes to academic achievement for all. This is supported by national research that indicates providing students with social-emotional learning will*:

  • Improve district wide achievement by an average of 11 percentile points.

  • Increase pro-social behaviors and improve student attitudes toward school.

  • Reduce depression, anxiety and stress among all students.

Social-Emotional Learning instruction grounds and supports all of the wonderful programs your district already has in place. It's not one more thing - it's the foundation for everything. Integrating SEL into academic instruction includes free-standing lessons that teach SEL competencies, inclusion of SEL in academics, and teaching practices to create classroom and school-wide conditions that teach and model SEL.
