Creative strategies for connecting with and engaging students is an important key to addressing chronic absenteeism, especially now, in a post-COVID world.
Creative strategies for connecting with and engaging students is an important key to addressing chronic absenteeism, especially now, in a post-COVID world. We are faced with developing strategies for re-engaging students that have been out of the school environment for over one year. During the workshop and roundtable discussions, we will discuss how to be proactive as well as learning how to develop Individualized attendance plans for chronically absent students focusing on the barriers faced by those students. Participants will have the opportunity to share prevention and intervention strategies that are working in their respective districts while engaging with and learning from a presenter that served for over 25 years as a Supervisor of Attendance K-12.
